ShropMog Replace a 4/4 Two-Seater Chassis - Part 2 The Rebuild

Work now switches to the new chassis.

[ Chassis ]
The front cross member needed to be lowered to accommodate the gearbox. Plates were added for the gearbox mounting and handbrake. Dual brake master cylinders are fitted and a balance bar on the pedal.
[ Cross frame ]
The cross frame, steering box, engine mounting and brake reaction bars are all located into position.
[ Rear end ]
New leaf springs, posts for the shock absorber top mounting, panhard rod and fuel tank carrier are bolted into place. The rear axle is located with a new set of uprated U-bolts.
[ Tub ]
Body tub refitted, scuttle roll baris ready to fit. You can just make out the engine on the hoist, beyond.
[ Dash ]
The walnut dashboard is back from being re-veneered and floorboards are cut to size and fitted.
[ Cockpit ]
A new, aluminium gearbox cover is fabricated.
[ Chassis ]
Then everything is taken off again and the chassis prepaired for paint.

Looking smart in a new coat of black.
