Ty Croes - Anglesey

Track Guide

The Anglesey Racing Circuit (Ty Croes) is located off the A4080 between Rhosneigr and Abberffraw.

The venue was completely rebuilt after the 2006 season. The different courses are described below:
National Circuit (opened 2007)
Old Circuit (pre-2007)

National Circuit - From 2007

Pictures are from a track walk. Notes relate to a lap in a 4/4 Zetec. The National Circuit is 1.20 miles in length and the sprint course is nearly two laps.

The start line is in the pit lane exit. Avoid too much wheel-spin as the track slopes to the left.	Out on to the Pit Straight and keep to the left, accelerate and up into 3rd gear. On the flying lap you take 4th gear on this straight.
Brake lightly and take 3rd gear for School.	Stay about a third of the way out.
Take a late apex and run out to the left.	The approach to the Rocket complex is uphill and blind. Brake hard for the left.
This is tight...	...and it's easy to run out of track on the exit.
Cross to the left for the downhill 180° right hander.	Run out to the left.
There is a short straight before Peel.	Brake lightly for the right hander - Peel
The exit is uphill. The raised area is an excellent spectator viewing point.	Cross to the right.
Brake late for a very late turn-in.	Take a late apex as the exit is tight and off-camber.
Accelerate onto Tom Pryce Straight. Take 4th gear.	Pick a braking point for Hairpin.
Into 3rd gear.	This is a tight 180° right hander.
Accelerate onto the pit straight. On the second lap, the finish line is at the exit.

Layout Until 2006

Pictures are from a track walk. Notes relate to a lap in a 4/4 Zetec. The sprint course is 2790.5 metres long and consists of one and three-quarters laps.

The start line is in the pit lane exit. Avoid too much wheel-spin as the track slopes to the left.	Out on to the Pit Straight and keep to the left, accelerate and up into 3rd gear.
Pick a braking point (more important for the second lap).	Follow a line between half and two-thirds out from the apex.
Balance the car, accelerating round the bend as the track dips down...	... and then starts to climb. Clip the kerb on the exit.
Move to the left on the approach up to Abbotts.	Brake and turn in.
Apex on the brow.	Run out to the left and carry enough speed to stay in 3rd gear.
Cross to the right on the approach to Radar.	Brake and turn in.
Stay to the left...	... for a late turn-in to the right hander.
Take a straight line to accelerate through the right and on to the Top Straight.	Move to the left and pick a braking point for 2nd gear Hairpin.
Take a late apex.	Run out wide, accelerating.
Cross to the right and take 3rd gear on the approach to Douglas.	On the first lap, brake, take a late apex and stay left. On the second lap accelerate through the bend and cross the finish line, positioned before the next bend.
Keep left.	Turn in to straight-line the last right-left bends, accelerating hard.
Run over the kerb on the right...	... and then the left. Accelerate down the pit straight and repeat to the finish line.
